New York-based Argentinean performance artist Susana Cook returns to the Kitchen with an evening-length work of political theater, Gross National Product. After shows as popular as Conga Guerilla Forest, Hot Tamale, RATS, the Fantasy of Extermination, and Tango Lesbiango, Cook probes further into interwoven issues of racism, nationalism, and homophobia with her wild brand of theatricality. In Gross National Product, eleven homeless women set out to understand economic structures. As they begin to unveil their own destiny and the meaning of history, the "fourth wall" of traditional theater collapses, launching everyone into chaos.
