Beatriz Santiago Muñoz

Beatriz Santiago Muñoz is an artist whose moving image work is entangled with Boalian theater, expanded cinema and feminist practices. She often works with non-actors, and incorporates improvisation into her process. Her recent work is on nonsense and free association. Santiago Muñoz lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Recent solo exhibitions and programs include: Oriana in Crac-Alsace and PIVO in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Momenta Biennale in Montreal and Art of the Real at Lincoln Center, Modern Mondays at the Museum of Modern Art, among others. Her work is included in public and private collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Kadist and Guggenheim, among others. She has received a Cara Fellowship, the Herb Alpert Award in the Arts among other recognitions.
