Sounding Out with Amina Ross
July 10, 4–6pm
Free with RSVP
Sounding Out is an exploration of the space between reading comprehension and somatic integration, honoring the idea that words are not only carriers of meaning but also vibrations shaped by breath and sound. This workshop series brings liberation-oriented texts into real time communal reading, paired with collaboratively made sonic environments to support embodied understanding.

Each session invites participants to read and discuss selected passages in small groups before transitioning into a synth-based sound bath. During the sound bath, fragments of the text reappear as woven voice and tone, allowing participants to re-encounter ideas in a more somatically-receptive, and physically-restful state. How might language and some other mode of understanding seep in through felt sound?

The series will unfold in collaboration with artists, musicians, synth-enthusiasts, and thinkers all working at the places where sound, voice, electronic instrumentation, and movements for collective liberation come together. Here we will explore the politics of sound, energy, and resonance.
